Supply picture

• Unit counts aren't public. The Pokémon Company doesn't publish print runs or how many boxes each product gets, so no reliable per-product numbers exist. Anyone quoting exact units is guessing.
• Printers are at full capacity. About 10 billion cards were printed from March 2025 to March 2026, the third year in a row near that level.
• Shortages may last into 2028. A new printing plant expected to roughly double capacity (to 18–20 billion cards a year) isn't due to open until late 2028.
• Reprints are coming for some sets. In May 2026 Pokémon said it is printing more of hard-to-find products at maximum capacity, including Destined Rivals and Prismatic Evolutions. Reprints tend to cool sealed prices for those sets.
• Store exclusives are scarcer. Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Boxes are sold only on Pokémon Center, so they usually sell out faster than the regular version.
